Full Time art handler and fabricator: Packing Department
Position Summary
We are seeking a full -time, skilled and reliable Day Crew art handler and fabricator to support the in-house and onsite packing of artwork for transport, exhibitions, storage, preparation, and installation, working from 8:00am to 4:00pm with some variation based on scheduled work done off-site.
The position will have access to a fully equipped carpentry shop, tools, equipment, and materials and will work on a range of custom packing, fabrication, and art-handling projects.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in fabrication, art installation, construction, museum preparation, fine art services, or related technical fields.
A minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a fabrication studio, art services company, museum, gallery, or similar environment is preferred.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
Packing and unpacking artwork in-house and at client locations such as museums, galleries, and private residences
Fabricating custom packing, fitting, cushioning, and support solutions for individual artworks
Preparing artwork for transport, storage, exhibition, and installation
Preparing crates and packing components for upcoming projects
Fabricating foam, board, archival, and other custom interior components
Preparing and fitting crate interiors
Fitting completed packing components and artwork into crates
Preparing, organizing, and staging materials for upcoming packing projects
Reading and following cut sheets, measurements, packing instructions, and project specifications
Taking accurate measurements and documenting packing requirements
Working with Packing, Crating, Design, and Production staff to troubleshoot and develop packing solutions
Maintaining an organized, clean, and safe production workspace
The position will have access to a fully equipped carpentry and fabrication shop, tools, equipment, and a wide range of packing and specialty materials.

full-time Evening Crew Packer and Fabricator: Packing Department
Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time, experienced Evening Crew Packer and Fabricator to join our Packing Department.
This is a hands-on production role working primarily in-house at our facility from approximately 12:00 PM–8:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The position will focus on packing artwork and preparing custom packing components, crate interiors, and materials for upcoming projects.
The Evening Crew Packer will work with a wide range of artworks, packing materials, and fabrication methods and will be responsible for developing and executing safe, precise, and efficient packing solutions.
We are looking for someone with strong fabrication skills, good spatial judgment, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with our Packing, Crating, Design, and Production teams.

Experience and Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in fine art packing, fabrication, museum preparation, art handling, art installation, carpentry, construction, or related technical fields.
A minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in a fabrication studio, art services company, museum, gallery, workshop, or similar environment is preferred.
Strong candidates will demonstrate:
Experience safely handling and packing artwork or similarly fragile and valuable objects
Strong hands-on fabrication and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with packing, fabrication, and cushioning materials
Ability to take accurate measurements and follow detailed instructions
Strong spatial awareness and attention to detail

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Good communication and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and complete assigned production work efficiently
Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and professional workspace
Because this position extends beyond the primary daytime production schedule, candidates should be comfortable working independently and maintaining established production, quality, and safety standards with limited supervision during portions of the shift.

Freelance art handler and fabricator
Position Summary
We are seeking experienced Freelance Day Crew Packers to support our Packing Department on an as-needed basis.
This is a hands-on role involving the packing, handling, preparation, and protection of artwork for transport, exhibitions, storage, and installation. Freelance Packers may work both in-house at our facility and onsite at client locations, depending on project needs.
Assignments may range from in-house packing and fabrication to onsite packing, installation support, and preparation of artwork for transport.
Responsibilities May Include
Packing and unpacking artwork in-house and onsite under supervision
Preparing artwork for transport, storage, exhibition, and installation under supervision
Fabricating custom packing, fitting, cushioning, and support solutions based on provided guidelines and designs
Preparing and fitting crate interiors and packing components under supervision
Measuring artwork and documenting packing requirements under supervision
Assisting with installations and onsite packing projects under supervision
Reading and following cut sheets, measurements, packing instructions, and project specifications under supervision
Troubleshooting packing and handling challenges in the field under supervision
Working collaboratively with Packing, Crating, Design, Production, and Project Management staff
Maintaining safe, organized, and professional work practices
Freelancers will have access to a fully equipped carpentry and fabrication shop, tools, equipment, and a wide range of packing and conservation materials when working in-house.
Experience and Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in fine art packing, museum preparation, art handling, fabrication, art installation, carpentry, construction, or related technical fields.
A minimum of 2–3 years of relevant professional experience in an art services company, museum, gallery, fabrication studio, workshop, or similar environment is preferred.

Schedule and Availability
This is a freelance, project-based position with work scheduled according to production and project needs.
Most assignments will take place during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, though occasional schedule flexibility may be helpful depending on project requirements.
We welcome candidates with regular freelance availability as well as experienced art handlers and packers who may be available for select projects.

Fine art crating & transport company seeks full time driver/art handler. Must have clean driving record and professional experience driving box trucks within the NYC metro area. Upbeat working environment. Full time position with benefits package that includes paid time off and options for medical HRA & FSA, dental, and vision.
Successful candidate will be a team player with quick problem solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and co-workers. Applicants must demonstrate ability handling delicate objects while exercising the utmost sensitivity and discretion. Direct art handling experience is required. Must have experience building slipcases and shadow boxes. Must be versed in common installation techniques and hardware.
