Director of Production
Purpose
Oversees and is accountable for the Design, Crating, Packing, and Painting departments, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining production standards.
Liaises with, and is the primary contact point for, other Boxart Departments, such as Project Management, Warehouse and Storage, Transport, Gallery Services, and Administrative
Is responsible for long-term departmental planning and strategy
Responsibilities and Duties
Oversee daily workflow and assign tasks to production departments
Coordinate project timelines with other departments
Approve cut sheets and manage staffing needs
Ensure quality control and safety standards are met
Manage employee performance, PTO, and training
Keep FileMaker up to date and use it as an organizational tool to track workflow, scheduling, and employee performance
Attend industry conferences and keep updated on best practices

Reports to: President
Technical Director
Purpose
Oversee quality control across all production departments, ensuring Boxart standards are upheld and managing staff training.

Manage quality assurance and quality control for all projects
Lead prototyping projects and coordinate between departments
Ensure compliance with client and industry standards
Measure artworks and oversee Production staff training
Keep FileMaker up to date and use it as an organizational tool to document QAQC processes, track prototyping projects, and monitor staff training
Represent Boxart at industry events and consult on production techniques
Approve final production techniques, designs, and materials

Reports to: President
On-Site Packing Manager
Purpose
Lead on-site packing projects, managing quality control and client communication.
Responsibilities and Duties
Oversee packing staff, coordinate with clients, and ensure standards are met
Train staff and resolve on-site issues
Track on-site tasks, schedules, and material usage
When not on site, keep FileMaker up to date and use it as an organizational tool to track tasks, schedules, and inventory
Direct Reports: Assistant Manager, Senior packer, associate Packer, Assistant packer
Reports to: Director of Production, Technical Director
In-House Packing Department Manager
Purpose:
Manage the Packing Department’s workflow, ensuring quality control and that deadlines are met.
Responsibilities and Duties
Assign tasks, check cut sheets, and maintain quality control
Manage staff and ensure timely project completion
Keep FileMaker up to date and use it as an organizational tool to track tasks, schedules, and inventory
Direct Reports: Assistant Manager, Senior packer, associate Packer, Assistant packer
Reports to: Director of Production, Technical Director
Assistant Manager
Purpose
Assist the Director of Production and Packing Managers by overseeing design, measuring, and packing responsibilities, ensuring projects meet specifications and deadlines.
Responsibilities and Duties
Assist in designing packing solutions (Packing plans and cut sheets) and overseeing packing tasks
Measure artworks for crating and packing, both on-site and in-house
Lead on-site and in-house projects, acting as the main point of contact as directed by the Director of Production
Update FileMaker with project details, cut sheets, and measurements
Assist Packing Managers in directing staff and training team members
Coordinate complex packing tasks, ensuring quality and safety standards are met

Reports to: Packing Manager, Director of Production, Technical Director
Senior Packer
Purpose
Lead packing tasks on-site, manage packing teams, and ensure quality control.
Responsibilities and Duties
Pack artwork, train new hires, and supervise on-site projects
Serve as a liaison between clients and packing staff
Direct Reports: None
Reports to: Packing Manager, Director of Production, Technical Director
Associate Packer
Purpose
Pack artwork using various methods, work independently, and handle client interactions professionally.
Responsibilities and Duties
Follow cut sheets, pack artworks, and organize materials
Assist with on-site packing and meet deadlines
Direct Reports: None
Reports to: Packing Manager, Director of Production, Technical Director
Assistant Packer
Purpose
Assist in packing artwork and materials, learning basic methods and progressing to Associate Packer.
Responsibilities and Duties
Cut and prepare materials, assist with packing tasks
Follow safety protocols and meet deadlines
